Professional Bug Sweeps in Agra

Agra carries one of the densest hotel and guest house stocks in the country relative to its size, a long established leather and footwear export trade, and a very large volume of visitors passing through for a night or two. We agree the scope with you first, then work through it using radio-frequency analysis for anything transmitting, a non-linear junction detector that finds electronics left switched off, optical and thermal checks, and a close physical inspection.

The honest picture in Agra is not the one you would expect from the hotel count. Across six years we could not find a single verifiable case of a hotel or guest house here recording a guest, in Taj Ganj, on Fatehabad Road or anywhere in the district. What is documented, repeatedly, is domestic: cameras installed inside homes by a husband, a father in law or a brother in law, filming a wife or daughter in law, usually inside a wider matrimonial complaint, with cases reported at Hariparvat, New Agra and the Trans Yamuna side. So the realistic risk for most people here is in their own bedroom and bathroom rather than in a hotel room. That absence of hotel cases is not a track record of enforcement, and we would not present it as one: transient guests tend to discover a device and leave rather than file.

Fatehabad Road is not Fatehabad, and the commissioner covers the whole district

Start with the mistake that costs the most time here. Fatehabad Road is the hotel spine beside the Taj Mahal, and it is covered by Tajganj police station in the City Zone. Fatehabad police station is a completely different place: a rural circle headquarters roughly thirty five kilometres to the south east, in the East Zone. Anyone with a problem in a Fatehabad Road hotel who searches for Fatehabad police station will be sent to the wrong end of the district.

Agra has been a commissionerate since November 2022, organised into three zones, City, East and West, with fourteen assistant commissioner circles beneath them. Escalation runs station house officer, assistant commissioner of the circle, deputy commissioner of the zone, additional commissioner, then the Commissioner of Police. There is no superintendent anywhere in that chain, and the commissioner's writ covers the entire district, all six tehsils, out to Bah, Pinahat and Kagaraul.

That surprises people in two directions. Fatehpur Sikri reads as a separate heritage town with its own identity and is inside the commissionerate, in the Achhnera circle. Etmadpur, which many treat as being on Firozabad's side of the map, is a circle headquarters here, and sits in the West Zone despite lying east of the city, which is an administrative quirk rather than an error. Note also that a proposal to split the City Zone in two was reported in September 2026 and was awaiting approval, so the zone structure may change.

Two further station level points. Dayalbagh is covered by a police chowki reporting to New Agra police station, not a station in its own right, and it is separately a nagar panchayat outside the municipal corporation, which is part of why things about it get filed in the wrong place. And Kamla Nagar sits in the Chhatta circle rather than Hariparvat, even though Hariparvat is geographically nearer.

On cyber matters, the city's cyber crime police station sits in the Hariparwat circle of the City Zone, so a complaint that stalls escalates through the assistant commissioner there and the zone's deputy commissioner rather than through a crime wing. Ignore any source saying it also covers Mathura, Mainpuri or Firozabad; that describes a superseded range level arrangement, and there is now a cyber police station for every district and commissionerate in the state. We publish no address for it because it is due to move into a new integrated headquarters, and no station count for the district because the official sources disagree.

One geographic fact that matters for vehicles. Agra sits within about forty five minutes of two other states. Bharatpur and Dhaulpur are Rajasthan, Morena is Madhya Pradesh across the Chambal from the Pinahat circle, and Tundla, which many Agra travellers use, is in Firozabad district. A tracker planted on a car here can cross into a different state police force quickly.

Common situations in Agra

Homes in matrimonial disputes

This is the documented Agra pattern. Checks cover bedrooms, bathrooms, fittings, sockets, detectors and anything installed by a family member with access.

Hotels and guest houses

Checks before an extended stay or a sensitive meeting in the Taj Ganj and Fatehabad Road belt, where rooms turn over constantly.

Export and trading offices

Sweeps where buyer lists, sampling and order pricing are discussed, which in a long established export cluster is what is worth overhearing.

Vehicles

Tracker checks under the body, around the wheel arches, in the boot lining and at the diagnostic port, which matter more here given how close two other states are.

The report, and what it can establish

After the sweep you receive a written report: the areas examined and any that could not be accessed, the methods used in each, anything found with photographs taken in position, and practical recommendations. If a device is found, we document it before anyone moves it, so the evidence survives for a police complaint.

A sweep reports what was found in the areas examined, with the methods used, at the time of the visit. Finding nothing does not prove nothing was ever there, and no sweep keeps a space clean afterwards. We would rather say that plainly than promise complete detection.

The full range of sweeps is described on our services page, and our national guide covers how to prepare, what drives the cost, and what to do if you find a device. The credentials behind the work, including company registration and award documentation, are on the founder page.

Bug sweeping in Agra: common questions

Which police station covers a hotel on Fatehabad Road in Agra?

Tajganj police station, in the City Zone. Fatehabad police station is a different place entirely, a rural circle headquarters about thirty five kilometres south east in the East Zone. This is the commonest and costliest mix-up in the city, because the names are nearly identical and a search will send you to the wrong one.

Are Fatehpur Sikri and Etmadpur covered by Agra police?

Yes. The commissioner's writ covers the whole district, all six tehsils, so Fatehpur Sikri sits in the Achhnera circle and Etmadpur is a circle headquarters in the West Zone, despite lying east of the city. There is no superintendent of police for Agra to appeal to. What is not covered is Tundla, which is Firozabad district, and Mathura, Bharatpur, Dhaulpur and Morena, the last three being in other states.

Where do I report something that happened at Dayalbagh?

At New Agra police station. Dayalbagh is covered by a police chowki that reports there rather than being a station in its own right, and it is separately a nagar panchayat outside the municipal corporation, which is why matters about it are often filed in the wrong place. Escalation runs through the Hariparwat circle and the City Zone deputy commissioner.

Where do cyber complaints go in Agra?

To the city's cyber crime police station, which sits in the Hariparwat circle of the City Zone, so it escalates through that circle rather than through a crime wing. Ignore any source saying it also covers Mathura, Mainpuri or Firozabad: that is a superseded range level arrangement, and every district and commissionerate in the state now has its own. Use 1930 and the national portal first for financial fraud.
