Kochi City reaches well past the corporation, but stops before Aluva
Kochi is a commissionerate, recorded in police files as Ernakulam City, which is the name you will see on an FIR even though the force calls itself Kochi City Police. Escalation runs from the station house officer to an assistant commissioner heading a sub-division, then to a deputy commissioner, then to the Commissioner of Police. There is no superintendent anywhere in that chain.
Ernakulam district contains two separate police districts, and the boundary between them is not where people expect. Kochi City Police covers far more than the city corporation: Kakkanad, Infopark, Thrikkakara, Kalamassery, Eloor, Maradu, Tripunithura, Fort Kochi, Willingdon Island and Vallarpadam are all inside it. But it stops short of the northern towns. Aluva, Angamaly, Perumbavoor, Muvattupuzha, Kothamangalam, North Paravur and the airport area at Nedumbassery all fall to Ernakulam Rural, a separate district under a District Police Chief based at Aluva, where the chain runs station house officer to deputy superintendent to District Police Chief with no deputy commissioner tier at all.
Three station names are worth knowing in advance, because asking for the wrong one wastes time. There is no Tripunithura police station: that area is covered by Hill Palace police station. Willingdon Island and the surrounding backwaters belong to Harbour police station. And the transhipment terminal at Vallarpadam sits in Mulavukad panchayat, so it is Mulavukadu police station rather than anything named for the port.
Kochi also has two cyber police stations rather than one. The Ernakulam City cyber police station, based near Infopark at Kakkanad, is limited to the city force's area, while Ernakulam Rural has its own at the district police office in Aluva. For online financial fraud, Kerala Police's own pages direct people to the 1930 helpline and the national portal first. Station counts for both districts differ between official sources, so we publish none.

A sweep reports what was found in the areas examined, with the methods used, at the time of the visit. Finding nothing does not prove nothing was ever there, and no sweep keeps a space clean afterwards. We would rather say that plainly than promise complete detection.

No. Aluva, Angamaly, Perumbavoor, Muvattupuzha, Kothamangalam, North Paravur and the airport area at Nedumbassery fall to Ernakulam Rural, a separate police district under a District Police Chief based at Aluva. Kakkanad, Infopark, Kalamassery, Eloor, Maradu, Tripunithura, Fort Kochi and Willingdon Island are all Kochi City.
Which police station covers Tripunithura or Willingdon Island?
There is no station called Tripunithura; that area is covered by Hill Palace police station. Willingdon Island and the surrounding backwaters are Harbour police station. The transhipment terminal at Vallarpadam sits in Mulavukad panchayat and is covered by Mulavukadu police station.
Where do cyber complaints go in Kochi?
